We started shipping the first MonsterAdapter LA-FZ1 on September 11, 2025.
The MonsterAdapter LA-FZ1 lens adapter is the first lens adapter that brings the Nikon F-mount AF Nikkor series CPU lenses and some third-party lenses to the Nikon photo cameras with Z-mount. The LA-FZ1 is the logical further development of the very popular MonsterAdapter LA-FE2. Both lens adapters allow the use of lenses with so-called screw drive for autofocus.

Retro design for more harmony
The LA-FZ1 lens adapter features retro design elements so that the design harmonizes with Z-mount cameras when using AF series lenses.
Firmware version 1.2 is available.
Since January 27, 2026 a new firmware has been released by MonsterAdapter. Basically a problem with the aperture control has been fixed. No new lenses have been added to the compatibility list.
We ask all customers who have a LA-FZ1 to make the update. The file can be downloaded either directly from MonsterAdapter or from the following page: Download page
Firmware version 1.1 causes compatibility problems.
Since we started selling the MonsterAdapter LA-FZ1, customers have reported various problems with lenses. The autofocus works poorly or not at all, even though the lenses are listed in the MonsterAdapter compatibility list.
The following lenses are involved:
- AF Nikkor 180 mm f/2.8 D IF-ED
- AF Micro-Nikkor 200 mm f/4D IF-ED
- AF Nikkor 300 mm f/2.8 IF-ED
We have informed MonsterAdapter of any feedback from customers. We are making every effort to ensure that we receive firmware updates from MonsterAdapter soon to resolve the known issues.

Supported lens list of firmware 1.0:
Unsupported lenses or accessories:
- F-mount lenses without CPU contacts
- AF 80mm f/2.8, AF 200mm f/3.5 and TC-16A teleconverter especially for the F3AF camera. Although these three products have CPU contacts, they are not compatible with the LA-FZ1.
