The MonsterAdapter LA-EA4r Upgrade Kit for Sony LA-EA4 is a conversion kit that can be converted by the user. The original circuit board built into the adapter is replaced by the EA4r circuit board included in the package. Full instructions and a video are available.

What are the advantages of converting the Sony LA-EA4 lens adapter with the MonsterAdapter LA-EA4r Upgrade Kit?

- Retro look of the classic lenses from the 1980s.
- No loss of light intensity and sharpness due to the elimination of the translucent mirror.
- High-precision AF through direct use of the camera’s on-sensor focus algorithm. This means that AF micro-adjustment is no longer necessary.
- Supports autofocus tracking for human and animal eyes if the camera supports the function.
- Use of the many AG points of modern cameras and not just the original 15 AF points. For example, with the Minolta/Sony AF 500 mm f8 telephoto lens, the single central AF point or up to 80% of all AF points are available across the image.
- Easy firmware update by connecting the camera to a computer with a USB cable.

Fully recoverable modification
You can easily and completely restore the original condition of the LA-EA4 after the modification. As long as you keep the removed circuit board and mirror well protected.
