I, Markus Inglin, am passionate about images and technology. Regardless of whether these are moving or still images. I take photos and videos with the right technology. My favorite way to do this is by divingunderwater, but I also enjoy standing behind the camera on land.

Biography

From vacation diver to professional underwater photographer and underwater cameraman.

I started scuba diving in 2001 and completed my PADI Openwater certification in the Maldives. After the following diving vacation in Egypt, I wondered what the Swiss lakes were like. After attending a lake seminar, it was clear that I had to get my own diving equipment. I joined the Astacus diving club and have been diving regularly in Swiss lakes and in various places around the world ever since. Whether it’s cold water with ice or tropical waters with lots of colorful fish.

I bought my first underwater housing for a Canon video camcorder at the beginning of 2003. This is how I made my first underwater video recordings. Over time, I have continuously improved my skills and equipment. In 2008 I switched to the Canon EOS 5D Mark II SLR camera. This was the first camera with a good video function and interchangeable lenses. More and more, however, I began to use the 5D Mark II not only for filming, but also for photography. That’s how I also got a foothold in underwater photography.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of working as an underwater cameraman on various assignments. It all started for the RedBull XRow. Later I worked for Swiss television programs, SRF DOK “Wasserwelten” or Netz Natur, as well as foreign television stations such as ARTE and SWR. I also dived into the water with my camera for Swiss short films and feature films.

I have already represented Switzerland twice as an underwater photographer at the CAMS Underwater Photography World Championship in 2017 and 2021. I achieved a total of 4 top ten rankings with the best rank in the fish category in 5th place.

I founded my own company, Ingma Pictures, in 2018. In addition to underwater photography and underwater video assignments, I also offer courses and workshops on these topics. I have been an official SEACAM partner and dealer in German-speaking Switzerland since summer 2021.

I am also involved in diving, underwater photography and underwater video on a voluntary basis. I was president of the Astacus diving club for 16 years. And currently I have been SUSV Commission President Photo & Video for several years.

With my company Ingma Pictures, I want satisfied customers by staying true to my vision. Enthusiasm is the most important thing for me. The enthusiasm of my customers and my own enthusiasm should result in a product that inspires other people.

My clients are very diverse. They range from individuals, companies and public authorities to television stations. Everyone who has a need for photos and video recordings. My specialty is underwater photography.
In the field of underwater photography and underwater video, I am happy to pass on my enthusiasm and knowledge in courses. It is important to me to pass on my knowledge in a flexible and targeted manner.
